People Who Live in Glass Houses Shouldn’t Throw Stones, or Is This The End of English Monarchy?

‘The Sun has sunk to a new low’, ‘British public reacts with fury after tabloid publishes 80-year-old pictures of the seven-year-old Queen and the Queen Mother being taught a Nazi salute’ – these are just some of the headlines following publication of the current Queen of England performing Nazi salute 80 years ago.

There is a lot of talk about banishing The Sun, and about restricting Murdock’s rights of entering the UK. While I understand the sentiment behind it, I disagree with the idea. UK is a free, democratic country. The Sun, while being an absolute rat rag, published a factually correct story.

Instead of calling for heads to roll and for banishing people and businesses, the English establishment should stop and think about what this really means to them.

The way I see it, a 7 years old girl had been brainwashed to become a Nazi sympathiser. Instead, she grew up to be a woman of good stature and a reasonable Queen. She had shown the strength of character befitting of a monarch. If anything, the English should see it as a feel-good story.

On another side of the divide, there are loud voices calling for the end of monarchy and for introduction of a republic.

This just makes me cringe. I wonder if these same individual protest all and any political and/or economic dealings with the US government, which was quiet happy to acknowledge the French Vichy government as the official government of France. The fact that it was Hitler’s little puppet didn’t seem to bother anyone in Washington.

In all fairness, France  and USA weren’t the only ones who openly (or secretly) embraced the Nazi regime. Russia had signed a Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, aimed at carving up bits of Europe.

It Is also a well-known fact that Muslim Brotherhood’s leader Hassan al-Banna, was an ardent supporter of Nazi Germany, as was a Grand Mufti of Jerusalaem.

It wasn’t just the political and religious leaders who willingly cooperated with Nazis.

There was a lot of money to be made, and some big businesses couldn’t contain their greed.

Nazi Concentration Camp Tattoo

That’s why I wonder how many of these same republicans that call to abandon the monarchy, simply because a 7 year old girl gave Nazi salute, are driving Fords? Henry Ford was Hitler’s close friend and the only American who received Nazi Germany’s highest honour – the Grand Cross of the German Eagle. Or how many of them use IBM equipment? Remember those infamous tattoos that Nazi victims were given upon entering concentration camps? They are the serial numbers that were fed into IBM’s accounting systems to insure efficiency.

The list of the companies who made their fortunes by cooperating with Nazis is quite long. Some of them made (or at least attempted to) make amends for their dark past, some are completely happy and comfortable with their history.

I guess what I’m saying is that before calling for the heads to roll, and for monarchs to be toppled, the instigators should have a good look at themselves and make sure they are not tainted.

Destroying Our History…. and Confederate Flags

For the past week America has been busy. Busy burning flags, editing them out of movies, removing references to Confederate flags, getting ready to demolish statues and rename the streets named after the Confederate leaders.

Why? It follows the tragedy of the shooting at Charleston church. The shooting suspect has been seen in a photo holding the Confederate flag.

Confederate Battle Flag was simply just that. A battle flag. It was never even a National flag, so how could it have flown over a slave nation or represented slavery or racism

Confederate battle flag

Is the Confederate flag a symbol of racism? Maybe. Does is have anything to do with the church shooting, or the murder of blacks in America that seems to be an everyday occurrence?  I doubt it.

In fact, of all blacks murdered in USA in 2013, over 90% were killed by other blacks. So we are not looking at wide-spread, racially motivated phenomenon here.

My first thought when I’ve heard about this idea of editing the flag out of history – “It’s just like Orwell’s 1984!” Not really surprising, considering the current political climate in America.

My second thought was – why is it, that displaying an ISIS flag, or a Hezbollah flag is perfectly fine, and Amazon selling ISIS flag, but removing Confederate flag is also fine with everyone – apparently it’s all about the “freedom of speech” and “freedom of expression”, but displaying a Confederate flag is suddenly an act of evil?

On emotional level I can understand the reaction. Innocent people dying is an ugly, horrifying event. An event that is sure to affect people’s ability to think rationally. However it should never result in us erasing our collective history. It’s amazing though, how often we engage in this kind of destruction of our history.

Lenin

Founder of the Communism in Russia

From the Tatars burning orthodox churches of Russia and Ukraine to the Communists destroying everything related to the Tsar family, to the current Ukrainian government destroying statues of Lenin and all things Commy, to the ISIS destroying mosques in Syria, to the Americans destroying their history of slavery, the story is always the same. Regardless of who’s holding the torch (or controls the demolition ball), from Golden Horde to the Communists, from Nazis to terrorists, from Whites to Blacks to Yellow, we are all engaged in one common action – destruction of the history of the humanity.

So maybe next time we stumble across something “offensive” or “undesirable” from our past, before we start looking for matches, I suggest we stop for a minute and think not about “here” and “now”, but about how erasing this particular part of our past will affect our future.

Our history, good or bad is what brought us here. Just like a tree cannot grow without its roots, the humanity cannot move forward without knowing its history.

Prime Minister is holding a vigil for a couple of convicted criminals

Now I’ve seen everything! PM of Australia Tony Abbott and the Opposition Leader Bill Shorten, accompanied by other MPs are holding candlelight vigil for Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, due to be executed in Bali. For those living under a rock for the past few months – Chan and Sukumaran are a couple of scumbags, who used to make money by destroying people’s lives

I wrote about the Bali pair last month here, and I argued that drug traffickers deserve the strictest punishment available under the law.  But at the time, I was only angry at all those little people living inside my TV and talking nonsense all the time.

Australian Parliament

Australian Parliament

Today I’m absolutely dumbfounded by the fact that my Prime Minister displays same level of stupidity (and yes, I know that the accepted, politically correct word is compassion) as the talking heads inside of my TV. I am absolutely dumbfounded that the Opposition Leader found the issue of prosecution of a drug trafficker, drug kingpin, drug-ring leader the only issue worthy enough to show solidarity and support with the current Government. Not the issue of improving our economy. Not the issue of dealing with the raising terrorism threat, not any of the other real issues affecting millions of people of Australia. No. The one and only issue that united Tony Abbott and Bill Shorten is How we can save lives of people whose chosen life path is destroying other people’s lives?

I am speechless. I have no speech. Both Libs and Labor are very lucky that we are not going into an election any time soon, because even that Muir dude, the one that spends his time throwing faeces at his mates is looking pretty good right now.

Bali 9, Drug Smugglers and Capital Punishment

The other day at work I have been listening to SKY News repeating over and over the same bit of news: “The last hope for two Australian drug smugglers on death row in Bali has been dashed”. After hearing this for what must’ve been a twentieth time, I found myself arguing with the TV.

Do the crime, do the time

Do the crime, do the time

I argued that I fail to understand why Australia is so keen on having those drug smugglers pardoned. They went to a foreign country. Country known to have a very strict anti-drug laws. They have been found guilty of their crime in that country’s court. How dare we interfere in an independent country’s internal affairs, or presume that our legal system is superior to theirs?

SKY dragged out some chick from the Amnesty International, who went on and on about how Capital Punishment should be abolished everywhere on Earth. Great idea in theory, a noble one. Really stupid in practice. For once, there is no AI chapter in Indonesia, so how can they possibly know and judge the laws, customs and values of that country? Secondly, I am a bit sceptical about an organisation that acts all-righteous and screams from its website that they do not accept government funding, yet they accept hundreds of millions of dollars from various governments around the world.

But going back to the drug lords, or drug mules or drug-whatever-they-called-today, the bottom line is really very clear.

I’ve always thought that there is a certain hierarchy in heinosity of various crimes.

The worst of the lot, the absolute scum of the Earth are pedofiles, closely followed by rapists and any other sex offenders. Ranking next on a criminal ladder are all the people making money on drugs. Drug growers, drug traffickers, drug dealers, drug anything…

Drugs destroy lives

Drugs destroy lives

So I guess what I’m saying is that the world would be a better place without those trying to poison our society and the only involvement from the media should be live broadcast of the sentencing and execution, with the hope that it will stop another dumb, down on luck kid from ever touching that shit.

Now I’m gonna go and argue with the TV a bit more….

I got my Crystal Ball out, and here are my 6 predictions for 2015

2015 is here, and looks like we are stuck with it for the foreseeable future. Some people like to look back and reminisce, but I prefer to look forward and get ready for what lies ahead.
So what is ahead? I don’t have a crystal ball, and I’m not particularly good at reading tea leaves – some people might say that I’m not particularly good at anything, but I think these people are just mean.
So I’ll have a go at coming up with the list of 6 predictions for the new year, and in a last blog of 2015 I’ll try see how many of my predictions were right.

unemployment

Unemployment to go up in 2015

1. Lets start with the sad and boring: Unemployment in Australia will hit 7.2%

2. With all the Wearables popping up, the time is almost right for this part of the market to explode…. Almost, but not quite. There won’t be any “out of this world” breakthrough in a next 12 months.

3. Speaking of “out of this world” – 2015 is set to be a year when we’ll see the advertising done in space, specifically; it will be placed on the Moon. Can’t wait to see the laser displays to rival the beauty of Aurora Borealis.

4. The sanctions on Russia will be relaxed, or removed completely. In part it will be due to the increased tensions between Turkey and Greece over the Mediterranean gas fields. (and yes, Russia will retain all the territories it “acquired” last year)

Parliament of Australia

Parliament of Australia

5. Closer to home – in September, it will be two interstate AFL teams battling in the Grand Final, but the Port wouldn’t have enough power when it’s needed most, and so it would be the Swans flying back to Sydney with the Cup.

6. Tony Abbot to lose his residence at The Lodge by 30th of April (this one is actually not my prediction, it’s a learned opinion of my friend-blogger Edward from The Mugwump Post )

Happy New Year

Happy New Year

There is this Russian saying that goes something like this: The way you’ll start a New Year is the way you’ll finish it. To make sure that I finish 2015 on a high, I better start it right…

Cheers, everyone, Happy New Year!

My Thoughts on Europe’s Decision to Accept Terror

Once again, I am amazed at myself. I am amazed that after everything I’ve read, everything I’ve seen, everything I’ve experienced, I still get surprised by people’s stupidity.

This time, it is the collective stupidity of politicians forming the European Union. I call it stupidity, because if I start using words I really feel as adequate to describe them, this blog would have to come under the X-rated classification.

For number of years now I have been observing EU becoming more and more Left-wing, more and more moving towards the path of self-destruction, pursuing agenda of groups whose aim is to destroy progress.

This time EU managed to not only to put a noose around their own neck, but also to tighten it.

I am referring to EU Court’s order to the EU to drop the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas from its terrorist blacklist, and to European Parliament’s vote to recognize Palestine statehood ‘in principle’.

Did they even bother to look into the matter? Have the history taught them nothing?

Sweden – how soon you forgot about Taimour Abdulwahab al-Abdaly, an Iraqi-born Swedish citizen, who carried out the 2010 Stockholm bombings. He’s done it in the name of Jihad.

France – how soon you forgot about Air France Flight 8969. Or 1995 Paris Métro and RER bombings, both carried out by the Armed Islamic Group. Or The Toulouse and Montauban shootings, perpetrated by Mohammed Merah, French citizen, of Algerian descent. All this done in the name of Jihad.

Ireland – how soon you forgot one of your sons, James Foley – beheaded by an ISIS. Done in the name of Jihad.

Now have a look at the extract from Hamas Charter:

“The Motto of Hamas: Allah is its Goal. The Messenger is its Leader. The Quran is its Constitution. Jihad is its methodology, and Death for the sake of Allah is its most coveted desire” Yes – Jihad.

Or maybe your lawmakers skipped this part of the Charter: “There is no solution to the Palestinian Problem except by Jihad. The initiatives, options, and international conferences are a waste of time and a kind of child’s play”.

Europe – ask yourself, what does Hamas mean by this: “In the shadow of Islam it is possible for the followers of the three religions-Islam, Christianity, and Judaism-to live in peace and harmony, and this peace and harmony is possible only under Islam”? I hope you are well prepared to live in the shadow of Sharia Law.

Now, I understand that Europe doesn’t care about the Jews – it never did. Europe was sitting by, idly watching 6 million Jews being slaughtered in Holocaust. Now, only 70 years later, Europe is quite happy to be a spectator in a next round of atrocities. There are only 3 problems with it.

The first one – terrorists will NOT let you to be just a spectator. When Hitler started his march across the Europe, he begun by promising that his ideas are only directed against Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals and communists. 60 Million people had to die, before the monster was stopped.

The second one – you will not be spared. Lets consult the Hamas Charter once again: There are “secret organizations throughout the world to destroy societies and promote the Zionist cause; these organizations include the Freemasons, the Rotary and Lions clubs, and other”. There are close to half a million Freemasons in UK alone. Lions club members – 1.36 million members worldwide. Rotary clubs account for about 1.2 million members worldwide. Hamas’ aim is to murder all these millions of innocent people.

The third one – the Jews are not that easy to kill any more. They proved it time and time again defending their homeland from Muslim aggression.

I would like to finish by quoting the Reverend Charles F. Aked- “It has been said that for evil men to accomplish their purpose it is only necessary that good men should do nothing.”

Busting a Worldwide web of child sex abusers

348 people arrested, 386 children removed from harm, 350,000 images and over 9,000 videos of child sexual abuse found, the website earning over $4 million a year shut down – all this as a result of a major investigation that ran for 3 years and spread to 50 nations.

The figures above came to the world’s attention after the string of arrests performed by various law enforcement agencies around the globe. It all started with investigation into a child pornography website lead by Canada.

While paedophilia is a deplorable crime in itself, what I found especially appalling is professions of people arrested on paedophilia/child pornography related charges. Among those arrested were 40 school teachers, nine doctors and nurses, 32 people who volunteered with children, six law enforcement personnel, nine pastors or priests, and three foster parents. All these people are the very same who supposedly would be the most obvious choices for a child to turn to when looking for protection.

Arresting all these people is an achievement the Police services all over the world can be really proud of. However, the question now is – what will happen to those who got arrested and later (hopefully) convicted? Will they get a significant jail time, or will they just get a slap on a wrist and be out on a street in a couple of years, ready to do it again, only with more cunning and more devious ways to lure the victims and avoid being caught?

What’s equally important, how can we make sure that these people do not re-offend? In Australia, we do not have an official registry of known sex offenders. And when people like Darryn Hinch speak up, they are the once who end up in trouble with the law.

I think it’s long overdue for us to stop relying on individuals like Hinch and on NGO’s like Movement Against Kindred Offenders and start applying pressure on State and Federal governments to enforce stricter penalties for sex offenders and a central data base of all known sex offenders.
